Settlers Park

Last Tuesday we got invited to go to the park and play. We went all the way to Meridian to check out a really cool one. This park had a Hugh play ground area and a big splash pad. At first Savannah wasn't to sure about the whole thing. She would run around the water shooting out of the toys instead of getting in it. I had to go with her and show her that it was okay. The water was even a little bit warm. Once she decided it was fun to play in I couldn't get her out of it.

Here she is rolling through the large puddle that forms around the drain
Then she decided to do a summer salt.

Wheee

Not to sure about this

She played and played in the water. Finally after a couple of hours she told me she was ready to go home and take a nap. However she never went down for a nap but she did go to bed early can't beat that!

Silly Girl

A couple of weeks ago Roderick's sister and her kids came to visit. We were over at his brothers house visiting when we looked out the kitchen window and found Savannah and her 3yr old cousin playing out side in the mud completely naked. I didn't get pictures of that but a few days later she was outside playing and this is how I found her. I guess it is the thing to do now.

Play in the water naked.

At least she took her clothes off before she got them wet and dirty.

What a cute naked little girl.

Sleep

Savannah has never been a great sleeper. She goes through stages where she will go to bed really easily and sleep all night long. Then all of the sudden she wont go to bed at night and she wont sleep through the night. Some nights I have to get up three times to put her back in her own bed.

Lately this is how she has been. I have to put her to bed in my bed to go to sleep (I don't lay down with her most nights), once she is asleep I put her in her own bed. Most nights she wakes up around 3am and want's back in my bed. So I pick her up and put her back in hers. She doesn't wake up crying or screaming she just walks into my room and tries to climb into be with me. So I know she isn't having bad dreams. When I put her back into her bed she cries for an hour and by the time she goes back to sleep I am wide awake and can't go back to sleep.

Last week she decided she wants to sleep on the couch. So one night I put her back to her bed and after screaming "Mommy Please, Please Mommy" for half an hour she gets up and goes to the couch, and sleeps the rest of the night. The next night when she wakes up she just heads to the couch. We wake up the next morning and she is sound asleep on the couch. The next night she wakes up and comes in to my room, as I am taking her back to her room she says "I sleep couch" so I cave in and put her on the couch. Last night she put herself to bed on the couch and slept there all night long.

So my question is why? Why wont she sleep in her bed? I don't think she is scared of the dark. She doesn't seem to want to just be in bed with us so what is it? If she falls asleep in the car during the day I put her in her bed for a nap and she will sleep in it then. So I am stumped. Also she wont go to sleep before 10pm. Her bed time was 8pm how do I get her back to an earlier bed time?

CRASH!!!

Canning season has begun once again. Last week I picked Apricots and got a dishwasher full of jars ready to be used once they ripened. Well one morning I went to move the card table that the jars were sitting on and CRASH, BANG, CLANG!!! The stinking leg buckled and sent them all to the floor which bu the way is concrete with linoleum on top. I didn't count how many broke I just tried not to swear and cleaned it up before Savannah woke up and walked on it. Hope your canning is going better than mine.

Oh yeah I had made some fruit leather that happened to be sitting on the same table and it too landed on the floor. I had to throw it out because it had many many shards of glass in it.

Water Fun

My niece came to keep me and Savannah company for a few days in July while Roderick was on a pack trip with his brother. We girls had a great time playing. We went to swimming lessons and the park, crafts and did meals on wheels. They played and played, we even made a slip and slide of sorts.

What a pose

By the end of the three days they were tired of each other though. When Savannah's daddy got home she was so happy to see him. She wouldn't let him out of her site for several days.
