Tada The Whizbang Chicken Plucker!!

Roderick worked on this project all summer long. It is finally finished. It doesn't work as well as he had hopped because the motor isn't working right. It will do three chickens in 15 seconds once he gets the motor fixed. But here it is....................oh some of these pictures aren't to pretty. Poor chickens...........

Yummy Ice Cream!

Savvy had her first cone the other day. I should have given her a different flavor than chocolate but oh well. She loved it.

She ate every bit of it. And was extremely messy.

Corn

Savvy loves her corn on the cob. She even likes it raw. Who has time to let it cook? This video isn't all that exciting but I found the juice running down her chin kinda funny.

Plums

We have this plum tree that is overloaded with fruit. So today I decided to make jam. After trying to use a victorio to press the pulp ( it didn't work ) I decided to smash the plums. I got about the same result. And tada the finished product.....14 pints of jam. Now we just have to wait a while to see if it tastes any good. Anyone got any homemade bread?

Cherries!!

Last week we got a tip that an orchard was giving away all the cherries you could pick. So My sister-in-law and I went and picked and picked and picked. It was hard to stop because their was so many and they look so beautiful. The next day they were going to destroy all that were left. These are only half of the cherries. We tried to make fruit leather and that didn't work so well, we also tried drying cherries which worked ok. Finally we decided that freezing would be best.
Megan was an awesome pitter, Linda washed and I bagged.

Linda's little helpers. They like Cherries too. Savvy is trying to pick one up that fell into the sink. Before I got the camera out the girls were taking the cherries out of the water and into the strainer.

Slip and Slide Fun

My brothers oldest three kids came to play for the day. We decided to make our own slip and slide, since a few weeks ago I went looking for one at the store and couldn't find one. The kids loved it. Especially D. Savvy watched the big kids do it then she decided to give it a try. This is her drinking the water. (No one had splashed in it yet.) She is soo silly!!
