Honey Time

September brought honey harvesting time. This year Roderick took the bees up to Weiser and the bees really packed away the honey. We got about 100lbs of honey this year and have already given most of it away. Roderick getting ready to take the honey supers off.

Seven Devils

For ten years now Roderick has been making a trip up to the Seven Devils on a pack trip. I used to go with him but then Savannah came alone and I haven't been able to go since. This year him and his brother decided to go on the back side of the devils along the Rapid River trail and find some old mining towns. Here are a few pictures from their trip. More to come later.

Black Lake. There is a mine at the top of that hill and they ran a cable down to the other side of the lake in order to get whatever it was they were mining.

Top-random things found laying around,
Bottom is Roderick holding a piece of the cable.

More random stuff

It amazes me the large heavy stuff that they hauled way back into the mines. Black Lake had a road of sorts into it but many of the others just had trails and were way in from civilization.

Scout Camp

Roderick went with the scouts to the Seven Devils this summer, it actually ended up being more of a family camping trip. There were only two boys and on leader that weren't related to us. I have more pictures but the computer is not working so well right now so they will have to wait. The first day they all climbed up to the top of "He Devil". This was the second day when they went on another long hike up to "Dry Diggins Lookout."

Princess Tea Party

Savannah is finally Potty Trained!!! So to celebrate we had a princess tea party. We invited all of her friends and had them come dressed up in there princess attire. They were beautiful. Of course we served lunch and had desert after. They all had a great time.
What party is complete without a swim?

I tried to make petti fours but they didn't work so I made pink and purple smiley faces.

Happy Fourth

For the fourth of July we spent the day with my family. The pictures are out of order but we started the festivities by going to the Vale fourth of July parade, the swimming and a BBQ at Grandma and Papa Tschida's, and finally we ended the day with fire works at the park in Ontario. We met several of the Austin family at the park. Linda always bring loads of great stuff to do while we wait for the fireworks. Bubbles, glow sticks and ice cream were on the menu. What more could you ask for?

I was trying to get a picture of the kids all dressed up in glow sticks, but it didn't work to well.

See the car seat on the front?

My yummy flag cake

Savannah has been wanting a cowgirl hat for a long time so we finally got her one. Here she is all ready to go to the rodeo.
