My story

I love reading other peoples bloggs. They are interesting and sometimes give me inspiration. Last week I found a ladies blog through a friend and she was inviting everyone to link to her blog and tell their story about how they became a mother and after reading 23 other stories I decided to tell my friends and, since I make my blog into a book, Savannah my story. Sorry about the spelling.

I never knew what I wanted to do when I grew up I knew I wanted to be a mom but I couldn't come up with something else. I finally decided I wanted to go into computer design, however when Roderick and I got married he asked if I wanted to have kids right away or go to school. I choose kids, little did I know it would take me seven years to have a baby.

After trying for a year to have a baby my regular OBGYN put me on clomed for 6 months and when that didn't work he sent me to a specialist. After several failed attempts at fertility drugs my fertility doctor decided that when I had my appendix taken out (there was internal bleeding and they had to got back in to fix it) it caused scare tissue to form and my uterus couldn't move. However our insurance only covered a laperoscopy if he said he was going into fix endometriosus. So we waited and about a year later our insurance changed. It would now cover exploitative surgery.

I have a laperoscopy in February and they said I had some endometriosus but mostly lesions. All of my internal organs were so compressed together that nothing could move. The doctor said to wait six months and see if it didn't work my only choice would be invetro. About eight months later I found out I was pregnant with my sweet little Savannah. That doctor didn't deliver babies anymore so he transferred me to another doctor. I knew right away she was a girl and we had her name picked out a long time ago. Mainly because it was one of the only names we could agree on. My pregnancy was normal or so I thought. Looking back now I don't think she moved around as much as she should have.

I was induced two days before my due date. Her heart was doing what they called a mombo beat it wasn't as active as they wanted it to be so they had the nicu on stand by so they could check her out as soon as she was born. At 4 am they came into my room to check on the baby and lost the monitor for her heartbeat. The nurses were calm at first but then when they found her heat beat again it was way to low, the head nurse started shouting orders and saying we were going to the OR. This is when Roderick woke up. There were at least five nurses in my room all doing something. Then the doctor go there and saw her heart beat was going back up so they decided to just wait and let her recover. They then realized that the reason her heart rate drop so dramatically was because I went from a 6 to a ten in 15minutes. Glad I had that epidural and didn't feel a thing. After three pushes she was out. All 6lbs and 20 inches of her.

Now it has been two and a half years and still no baby. So I changed doctors again, yes I am one doctor number four, and had another surgery and now we wait to see what will happen. This doctor told me to try for four months and then come back in and we will look into other things. Because this time I am thirty starting this process and getting old. Wow I never thought of myself as old until then.

So that is my story what is yours?
